Going from semi-detached to detached

When we bought this lovely cottage, we knew that the owners of the derelict property through the party wall were going to demolish it and planned to build a new detached property over 3 metres away. This would make our cottage detached and raise its value somewhat. All we had to do was check on the works proposed to deal with the division and make good the shared wall and put up with a bit of mess and disturbance for a few months.

Well, what a surprise we got when we finally got the keys to the cottage at the start of December 2024 and the demolition had already begun! Now we are in February and work continues. You can see the progress on the demolition on my YouTube channel, but here is the latest video

What are our plans? Well, once all the building work is finished outside, and we have finished changing the decor in the cottage internally, I plan to really concentrate on my photography, art and writing (I have a story in my head that will keep me occupied for months) and John is already looking out for a suitable small boat so he can go fishing and exploring. The garden here really needs remodelled so we can continue our self sufficient goals, but I will definately share all this with you.
